Alaçatı is a town of İzmir Çeşme. Alaçatı is a coastal area with the Aegean Sea and has great interest by local and foreign tourists and hosts thousands of vacationers every year. At the beginning of the 1800s, the marsh Alaçatı became dried up by the order of the Grand Vizier and became the residence of the Greeks who came to dry the marsh. In Alaçatı, strong winds cool the region and prevent the formation of extreme heat. This winds through about three hundred thirty days of the year, which is why it became the center of surfers.
